“American Steps” is a series of 24 drawings where the step from “The way that yields (way, yield, step, yield)” is used as a mark making device to obsessively and intimately understand the word “AMERICAN.” With the template provided, the drawings are evenly spaced by the height of the works on paper referencing Donald Judd’s “Stacks”. The drawings can be installed from floor to ceiling and the order of the drawings is up to the institution exhibiting them.
